Why isn’t my shortening hardening/it is goopy, is it safe to eat?

Based on the shortenings storage temperatures you may experience a range of textures from firm to soft.  All of these textures are safe to eat.  If you prefer a firmer shortening, store it in a cool dry place or in the refrigerator.
